Winter wheat producers in the area are invited to a production clinic to be on Thursday, August 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Menno Legion Hall.

Guest speakers will be Jim Gerwing and Tandi Nleya, Extension Specialists from South Dakota State University.  Nleya will discuss winter wheat varieties, performance, and general management issues.  She is from the West River Extension Center in Rapid City.

Gerwing will highlight fertility recommendations and concerns for optimum winter wheat yields.  He will also provide information on late nitrogen applications to boost protein content.

The S2 Extension Agronomy Educators – Connie Strunk, Matt Bernau, and Steve Sutera will provide a 2006 disease summary and recommendations for 2007.

Anyone interested may attend.   There is no charge for the program.
