Expanded Food & Nutrition
 Education Program

Serving Children, Youth, and Families through Nutrition Education

What is EFNEP?
Hands on experiences are provided to teach:

    Cooking skills

    Nutrition

    Meal Planning

    Food Safety

    Shopping Skills

The purpose of EFNEP is to provide anyone responsible for feeding children, especially those with limited financial and educational resources, with basic food and nutrition information so that they can have healthy and adequate diets.

Who does EFNEP serve?
Both adults and children are taught. This program is for anyone on economic assistance and responsible for feeding children.  Generally, adults meet weekly in small groups or on a one-to-one basis for 10 - 12 lessons, depending on their needs and interests.

EFNEP is offered to children through after-school enrichment programs,
summer youth programs, and in some cases, regular school classes.

Cost?
The only cost to participate in EFNEP is about      10-12 hours of your time, a desire to learn, and occasionally ingredients to prepare foods.
