What
is 4-H Cloverbuds?
Cloverbuds
are 5- to 7-year-olds involved in a companion activity to
the traditional 4-H program. Cloverbuds learn by doing in
this informal, non-competitive, educational program
conducted by the 4-H component of Minnehaha County
Cooperative Extension.
The purpose of Cloverbuds is to help children get along with
each other, to explore many interests, to practice skills,
and to build self-confidence and self-esteem through
healthy, cooperative learning experiences.
What do Cloverbuds do?
In addition to regular club
activities, Cloverbuds participate in a number of county 4-H
activities, including the Minnehaha County Achievement Days
at the Sioux Empire Fair.
Because the 4-H Cloverbud program is non-competitive, the
youngsters are not evaluated on their efforts, but they are
recognized with a ribbon for participation.
